On Monday, February 17, 2025, Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, inaugurated the Conference on Supporting E-Learning Initiatives and Educational Technology Infrastructure in Darfur. The event was attended by Darfur Governor Minni Arko Minawi, several ministers, ambassadors, and Eng. Mahmoud Al-Jabri, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Classera Global.
Digital Education for Over 5 million Students
During the conference, Classera, in collaboration with the Darfur government, launched a transformative initiative aimed at providing cutting-edge smart learning solutions through a comprehensive digital platform accessible to all students in the region.
Governor Minni Arko Minawi described this agreement as a groundbreaking step in advancing education in Darfur. The initiative represents a holistic approach to rehabilitating the educational system by enhancing financial and technological support and developing infrastructure for schools and universities.
He further emphasized that the initiative targets all displaced and refugee students in camps and conflict zones, in addition to over five million students in Darfur’s general education system. The agreement integrates Classera’s Learning Management System (LMS) with traditional education models, leveraging Digital Transformation Centers equipped with smart classrooms, laboratories, studios, and advanced learning technologies.
Minawi highlighted that this partnership with Classera ensures the continuity of education even in the most challenging circumstances. As students eventually return to their schools, the initiative aligns with the vision of “Learning Never Stops,” backed by Classera’s global expertise.
